Thanks for helping us digitize Dr. Timothy Leary’s archives!

Timothy let his friends, family, and everyone around him know exactly what he wanted after his death: for his archives to be placed online, and be made fully searchable and completely indexed, for all the world to see.

Timothy wanted his archives online so that everyone could study and learn from what they contain. (Letters, legal documents, photos, videos, audio recordings, lectures, interviews, unpublished works, and other treasures.)

We have started this process but need your help to continue.

With all of us working together, we are going to make this happen.

Even small contributions help! — If only 5,000 people gave $20 each, we’d have $100,000, and be more than half way there.

In this video clip from late 1995/early 1996, Timothy explains how he envisions using his digital archives himself, in the future, after his reanimation.

When this video was recorded, Tim was planning on having his head cryonically frozen, and being reanimated in the future. However, as his death grew near, and the cryonics people started moving in all the equipment they needed to chop off and preserve his head, they also came in with a lot of rules.

Tim decided he didn’t “want to wake up in 50 years to people with clip boards and no sense of humor.” Consequently, his head was not frozen.

Tim was cremated, and some of his ashes were shot into space with Gene Roddenberry’s, where they still circle the earth to this day.

“The first months after my reanimation, I can study…I can trace back, and re-live my life…Whatever I do, people will learn from my mistakes.”
